Do They Care?

Do students know that creating a test is just as hard as studying for one? Do they know that most teachers agonize over grades that are not indictative of a student's real abilities? Do they know that grading an essay is harder than writing it? Do they know that I had rather have three root canals than write multiple choice questions?
Do they care that I care?

No, I don't think they realize. I think it is much like maturity and love. You don't fully appreciate the capacity for unselfish love until you are a parent. Likewise, unless and until you are a teacher, (a REAL teacher, not someone drawing a paycheck for spouting off what you know) the capacity for understanding the angst we put ourselves through just isn't there.
Just to let you know...I appreciate the struggles you go through. The grading system we have is flawed, but no one has come up with a better one since the advent of institutional schools. Maybe we could, and make millions at last!

I don't think that they have a clue, but they will if any of them ever work in a classroom setting and have to do it themselves. I appreciate my teachers and their jobs so much more now than I did in college. Although, I did like your speech class, even if I got a B, I think it was just because Bekah and I goofed off...he he he
Have a blast on your trip! We will miss you, but we will see you on Easter for sure, even if I have to drive us girls myself!!
