Scheduled Travel

I am leaving early Friday morning to go to the beach with eight of my friends. It is always a most relaxing and fun time. We will miss Jessica and Debbie and Ann but will try our best to carry on without them.

Yesterday they decided on the date for the Christian College Study Abroad Directors Conference. It will be in December and it is in Montevideo, Uruguay! I am so excited about going. The announcement of the meeting also said that we would be going to Buenos Aires for a couple of days. As a fourth grader studying geography I used to dream of visitng Norway, Argentina, and Mongolia. I got to go to Norway in June of 2000, there is a plan to visit Argentina now all I need is a plan to get to Mongolia. I have watched the Today Show's 50 most popular activities to show that you are living for today and I can honestly say that I have done one of my top three things and a second one is scheduled . I also got to ride a camel in front of a pyramid in Egypt and cruise down the Nile...I have a wonderful job and I love my life!

I Am Very Tired

I have spent the entire day cleaning out the scary room that is/was my garage. It is much better now...not yet finished but getting there. I am not quite sure why my father had eight ladders but he did and now they are living at my house. They have come in very handy during the past week but I have discovered another one! i am not sure if they were breeding in the dark confines of my garage but I found a very small round step stool hidden inder the others while I was cleaning. I kinda feel like we now have a grandchild. A small round grandchild that I can stand on!

Age is Relative

Lately, I have been reading the blogs of several people I love and many who I don't know but admire. I have observed that the blogs of the older (that means they are in their 40s-50s) individuals are posted early in the morning. Early in the morning means that the posting clock reads something like 5:00 - 5:30 AM. The blog sites of the college/university students are usually posted after midnight. I am not an early morning person. I inherited that trait from both of my parents. I have decided to try and split the difference between the older bloggers and younger blogger and post in the afternoon. It at least makes me feel younger.

Here is the favorite word of the day (this word has to be said out loud preferable with the /s/ prolonged): mesquito

Sometimes You Just Have to Sing

My daughter and I just met one of our friends and her two 6 year old daughters at a park. We were very excited to drag our laptops along with us because we have one of the first wireless parks in our state. However, we couldn't log on! We both has signal status on our wireless cards but it wouldn't let us access that internet. It kept saying there was a technical problem. I do not enjoy technical problems. If I turn something on I believe it should work. That was only a minor inconvience because there was an ethnic church group having a picnic and church outing in the park. Towards the end of their picnic, many of the teenagers gathered and started a song. It was lovely and happy and seemed to have no end. My friend commented on the joyful sound they made. It was a delightful experience. I was sad when they stopped singing and packed up thier picinic.

On one a totally different note....isn't picnic a fun word to say. Pic nic. I love it.

I Love My Job

I have a wonderful job. I do not have to stand on a ladder all day or bend over with my behind up in the air. I do not have to work out in the sun all day. I do not have to hold a tool and do the same repetitive movement over and over. I love my job!

Now, I do love the changes that are coming in my house that are a result of standing on a ladder, working in the sun and doing the same repetitive movement over and over . But once again, I love my job.

Bloggin is Hard for Me

I have experienced great difficulty with my blog. Perhaps I have it solved now. I even tried to begin a new blog but of course there are problms with that one also. My daughter told me that these other entries were too full of complaints so I will try to make these happier more upbeat.

So, my daughter is at home this week to help me paint the cedar shingles on my front porch and the eaves of my house. In the past I have called the front porch the black hole because it was so dark. Now it is a lovely creamy butter color. Later tonight we are planning to start painting the eaves a creamy white. It will look much cleaner and chrisper than that ugly brown and beige. My daughter has been a tremendous help. She has battled sweat and bugs that did not want to be displaced from thier home but we have prevailed.
